White House Pressures Netanyahu Over West Bank Settler Violence
The White House is putting pressure on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to officially denounce an outbreak of violent acts against the settlers of the West Bank following the characterization of settlers who surrounded Palestinian homes as "Israeli terrorists" by US Ambassador Mike Huckabee, especially after the attack on the home of a Palestinian-American citizen. In the village of Qusra, which is located close to Nablus, settlers, supported by the Israeli military constraints, have surrounded three houses for close to a week now and cut the supply of water and electricity, leaving 15 Palestinians trapped with no means of basic needs as the military restricted activists from reaching out to help.
